Summer is officially here, and that means one thing in my house. We are making homemade ice cream, and these Cuisinart ice cream recipes are HAPPENING.
This list has something for everyone, from rich and bold butter pecan to fruity pineapple coconut.
So if you’re searching for your new favorite summer dessert, you are absolutely in the right place.
Best of all, most of them are so simple to pull together that even the kids can get in on the fun!
1. Coffee Ice Cream
Need an excuse to have ice cream for breakfast? I’m totally kidding, of course! But this one does have a whole cup of strong brewed coffee, so it definitely has that caffeine kick.
I just love this ice cream. The coffee combines with the vanilla extract to create this flavor that’s almost like a French vanilla latte.
It is so, so good, especially if you’re a coffee fanatic.
2. Cookies and Cream Ice Cream
Milk, sugar, heavy cream, vanilla extract, and a cup of chopped Oreos are all it takes to make this sweet, kind-of-crunchy ice cream.
The instructions are super similar to the others: just mix the ingredients and let the ice cream maker do its thing.
You get to choose your own adventure here. If you love a good crunch, leave those Oreo pieces big and chunky. If you’re looking for something with a smoother consistency, crush them up into small, powdery bits.
3. Blueberry Ice Cream
This is a five-ingredient wonder: just blueberries (you can use fresh or frozen), sugar, lemon juice, whole milk, and heavy whipping cream.
It tastes absolutely fantastic, which is a given for me because I am a huge fan of blueberries.
It also turns this stunning purple color that looks amazing.
This one does take a bit more time. You have to cook the blueberries on the stove to create a syrup first, and then put them back on the stove so it can thicken again.
Even with the extra steps, it is worth every single minute you spend making it.
4. Vanilla Ice Cream
Maybe vanilla is your absolute favorite, or maybe you’re making it because it’s the one flavor the whole family can agree on. Whatever the reason, this recipe for vanilla ice cream is truly one of the best.
It’s sweet and rich, and so, so easy to make. All you’ll need is milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and heavy whipping cream to get that smooth and creamy texture.
Add just a tiny pinch of salt for a nice contrast in flavor.
Once it’s done, enjoy it as-is, pile it in cones, serve it on a piece of warm apple pie, or use it as the base for a decadent ice cream sundae.
5. Butter Pecan Ice Cream
If you are someone who likes intensely sweet and buttery ice cream, this butter pecan recipe will probably become a fast favorite.
It’s so soft and smooth, but the chopped pecans add a really delightful crunch.
That flavor of the butter comes through so strongly, even past the sugar, cream, vanilla, and milk. This is easily one of the most flavorful ice creams on the entire list.
So, if you like your ice cream bold and rich, you are going to love this one.
6. Pineapple Coconut Ice Cream
This ice cream truly has it all. You get the yummy sweetness from coconut milk, sugar, and vanilla, plus the fruitiness of pineapples, and even a tangy zestiness from lime.
All together, these ingredients create such a wonderful, tropical flavor that’ll make you think you’re drinking piña coladas on the beach.
Here’s a pro-tip: if you’re a big fan of coconut, go ahead and add a few flakes of shredded coconut right on top when you serve it. That gives it a perfect double dose of coconut goodness.
7. Strawberry Ice Cream
Do you want to make the best strawberry ice cream you’ve ever had with only four ingredients? Just grab your Cuisinart ice cream maker, 14 plump and ripe strawberries, some maple syrup, milk, and heavy cream.
Go ahead and mix everything together except for the strawberries. You’ll want to crush those separately.
After that, add both the mixture and the berries into the ice cream maker. In about 20 minutes, you’ll be enjoying a smooth, strawberry-flavored treat.
8. Peach Ice Cream
Peach ice cream is one of my personal favorites. I just love how it combines the sweetness of the ice cream with the tartness of ripe peaches. It’s such a fantastic contrast.
You can use fresh or frozen peaches for this. If you’re using fresh ones, make sure to peel them, remove the pits, and slice them into quarters. Frozen peaches will need to thaw for at least an hour.
Similar to the cookies and cream ice cream, you can vary the time your peaches spend in the food processor to get the texture you want. If you like large pieces of fruit in your ice cream, only use the processor for a moment.
If you prefer smaller pieces and a smoother consistency, process those peaches until they’re closer to a puree.
9. Chocolate Ice Cream
For this yummy chocolate ice cream, you’ll need the same ingredients as you would for the vanilla. You’ll also be adding half a cup of unsweetened cocoa powder.
Just whisk everything together and then pour it into the ice cream maker. It should be ready in about half an hour.
As the recipe notes, if you prefer a more dark chocolatey taste, just cut back on the milk by half a cup.
10. Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream
This homemade mint chocolate chip ice cream may not turn out as bright green as the kind you buy in the store, but it tastes just as good. (Personally, I think it tastes even better!)
To make it, you’ll need these ingredients: heavy cream, milk, sweetened condensed milk, vanilla extract, pure mint extract, salt, and bittersweet chocolate.
If you want to try and make it bright green, you can also add a few drops of green food coloring. I added the five drops recommended in the recipe, and I got more of a pale green than anything vibrant.
Still, there was nothing pale about the taste! It was amazing!
