30 Easy Canned Biscuit Recipes

These canned biscuit recipes are all the good things that I am looking for in a meal. They are:

  • Easy: As in, pop the can and go.
  • Versatile: We are doing breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert.
  • Delicious: Think buttery layers and golden crispy tops.
  • Fast: Because we love food that doesn’t take five and a half days to make.

If you are a lover of carbs and a fan of shortcuts, you are in the right place.

1. Grands Ham Biscuit Sliders

Calling all grilled cheese lovers! You are going to absolutely lose it over these ham and cheese sliders.

They aren’t technically grilled, but we bake them until the biscuits are fluffy and that cheese is completely melted.

The ham gets just a little curl at the edges and it is perfect.

If you want to feel a little fancy, swap in some Gruyere cheese and whip up a creamy béchamel sauce to go with it.

2. Monkey Bread Muffins

So you don’t have a bundt pan? That is totally okay.

Monkey bread muffins are just as sticky, just as tasty, and honestly perfect for snacking on the go.

Since these guys are smaller, you just need to cut the biscuits into tinier pieces to make them fit in the muffin pan.

3. Homemade Pretzels and Cheese Sauce

Homemade pretzels can be a total project and I bet you don’t have lye solution just sitting in your pantry.

If you just want a salty, chewy, tender treat with some velvety cheese sauce, please take this shortcut.

You do need to boil them in a water and baking soda mix before baking instead of lye. That is the secret to getting that signature chewy taste.

4. Biscuit Chicken Pot Pie

Do you have a can of cream of chicken soup and a bag of frozen veggies? Add some leftover chicken and you have everything you need for a killer pot pie filling.

To keep the biscuits from getting soggy, you just pre bake them.

Pop them on top of the filling in the baking dish to finish cooking or just spoon the filling into a bowl and add the baked biscuits on top.

5. Easy Garlic Parmesan Knots

I physically cannot walk into a pizza parlor and not order the garlic knots.

They are buttery and tender and the garlic flavor is just intense in the best way. Honestly I might like them more than the actual pizza.

If you want to make them at home, you need six essential ingredients. You start with melted butter and mix in garlic powder, fresh Parmesan, parsley, oregano, and salt.

Brush that dough before you bake it and then hit it again when they come out of the oven for the biggest flavor punch.

6. Easy Cheese Bomb Bread

Bread and cheese are just made for each other. These little cheese bombs are going to absolutely knock your socks off.

Why spend hours mixing and proofing dough for dinner rolls when you can pop a can of biscuits and stuff them with cheese?

Mozzarella gives you that amazing cheese pull we all love. But if you want to elevate the whole situation, try using brie instead.

7. Easy Garlic Breadsticks

Maybe you don’t have time for garlic knots? Simple breadsticks are the answer.

These are super yummy with that butter mix we talked about, but you can keep it simple with just melted butter and garlic salt.

I arrange mine close together on the tray so they barely touch while baking. You get that nice crust on top but the edges stay beautifully fluffy.

8. Ham Potato Puffs

Adding mashed potatoes and ham to biscuit cups might not be your first instinct. But I promise it is totally worth a shot.

Since the filling is already cooked, you are really just cooking the biscuits here. If you want a wow factor, try piping the mashed potatoes on top like frosting.

They turn golden in the oven and look so cute.

9. Easy Monkey Bread Recipe

Do you need a show stopping dessert at the last minute? This monkey bread is unbelievably easy.

You only need five ingredients and the hardest part is chopping the biscuits and tossing them in cinnamon sugar.

It looks like you spent hours making creamy caramel but it is really just a quick brown sugar and butter sauce that thickens while it bakes.

10. Easy Strawberry Shortcake Recipe

Summer is here and my strawberry garden is exploding. I have a bucket full nearly every day and this strawberry shortcake is my favorite fast recipe.

To get the most out of that fruit, you have to macerate it for at least 20 to 30 minutes.

That just means cleaning and dicing the fruit and tossing it with sugar so it gets syrupy.

You can throw the biscuits right in the oven or brush them with butter and sprinkle on some cinnamon sugar.

11. Cheeseburger Biscuit Cups

Kids will pick up their food whenever possible. Who needs a fork?

That is why these cheeseburger cups are such a huge hit.

You can keep them kid friendly with just cheese and ground beef. Or you can go more grown up with blue cheese, chopped bacon, and chili jam.

12. Canned Biscuit Donuts

When you bake these they are just round biscuits with a hole in the middle. But fry them and top them with a sweet glaze?

You will be hard pressed to tell the difference between these and a Dunkin’ treat.

Don’t overcrowd the pan when you fry them. I just do a few at a time so the oil temp stays steady.

Coat them in sugar right out of the pan or wait until they cool to glaze them.

13. Cinnamon Sugar Biscuit Bites

These look like cinnamon munchkins but they are actually biscuit bites.

All you need is cinnamon sugar and some melted butter.

Bake the bites and then toss them in the butter and sugar before putting them back on the sheet.

I recommend broiling them for a few minutes to caramelize the sugar and get that crunch.

14. Apple Pie Biscuit Casserole

This recipe is dangerous. Spiced, sweet, and ready for the oven in ten minutes? Consider yourself warned.

You bulk out apple pie filling with sugar, butter, vanilla, and cinnamon. This makes it loose enough to cover everything perfectly.

I love that the biscuits bake between layers of fruit filling but you can add them to the top cobbler style if you want texture.

Feel free to swap in peaches or mixed berries too.

15. Ham and Cheese Stuffed Biscuits

Do you need something warm and cheesy to eat on the run? These little ham and cheese pillows are for you.

Flatten the biscuits and put the cheese and chopped ham right in the center.

Pinch up the edges until they look like dinner rolls instead of folding them over.

These are best when brushed with garlic butter and sprinkled with Everything Seasoning.

16. Mini-Garlic Monkey Bread

If you have a big family you might want to make mini monkey breads instead of one big loaf.

This way everyone gets their own and no one fights for the last bite.

The parmesan and garlic butter flavor pleases the whole table.

But you can take things up a notch. Try splashing some hot sauce in the butter or coating the biscuits in ranch dressing mix.

17. Buffalo Chicken Biscuit Bake

I was skeptical about this one. Is it basically buffalo chicken dip covered in biscuits? Yes. And it is so good.

I definitely think it needs extra cheese on top and I added sweet corn to the mix to pretend it was healthier.

18. Sausage Biscuit Cups

Are you sick of overnight oats? Make a batch of these unbelievably tasty sausage, cheese, and egg biscuit cups.

Using cream cheese makes them extra creamy but you can leave it out.

The cheese and sausage have plenty of flavor. You can also serve this as a casserole.

Chop the biscuits into chunks and scatter them in a baking dish then cover with the egg and sausage mix and bake.

19. Best Chicken Ala King Recipe

Making a creamy sauce from scratch can be intimidating. But this one is pretty straightforward.

The trick is to whisk constantly to keep it smooth. You shouldn’t see any lumps of flour once it thickens.

This is the perfect mid week recipe and if you have leftover chicken it is even faster.

20. Easy Cheesy Pull-Apart Bread

Pull apart bread is a great conversation piece for family dinner.

Cheese is a must for texture and flavor. I like using a mix of strong cheddar and mozzarella.

If you make this in a bundt pan you can fill the center with dip. Warm marinara is the best option.

21. Canned Biscuit Dough Fruit Coffee Cake

This sweet cake is like monkey bread with some tasty upgrades.

First you add orange zest to the cinnamon sugar. Toss the chopped biscuits in a Ziploc bag until coated.  Then add fruit to the bottom of the baking dish.

Anything from berries to chopped apples or peaches works. Just drain and thaw anything frozen so the cake isn’t soggy.

22. Southern Fried Chicken Biscuit Sandwiches

I love fried chicken and waffles but sometimes it is just too much.

Waffles are soft but they are big and have an edge to them.

Soft buttery biscuits against crispy fried chicken are a revelation. There is no better way to do it.

Please do not skip the spiced maple butter because it makes the dish.

23. Chicken Pot Pie Biscuit Skillet

Chicken pot pie is the ultimate comfort dish and I make it all year.

When I have time I throw on puff pastry or a homemade crust.

But topping it with biscuits might be my favorite option. Biscuits are tender and thick and give you a substantial meal in one scoop.

I like making them in individual casserole dishes so nobody fights over the biscuits.

24. Easy Biscuit Pizza Recipe

This is for the deep pan pizza lovers. If you like thin and crispy crust this is not for you.

We can agree that pizza is the best food on the planet right? Even bad pizza is good.

When the craving hits we don’t always have time for scratch dough. A can of biscuits is the next best thing.

Just flatten them out before adding toppings and load them up with plenty of pepperoni and cheese.

25. Easy Louisiana Biscuit Beignets

Beignets are pretty simple. You make the dough, fry it, and douse it in impossible amounts of powdered sugar.

No extravagant glazes or fancy fillings here.

Why not make a batch with canned biscuits? Top them with enough sugar and no one will know.

26. Sausage Biscuit Bites

I prefer making these into little empanadas. Instead of pressing biscuits into muffin pans, flatten them out and fill with cheese and sausage.

Use egg around the edges and fold over into half moons. Top with extra cheese and bake until golden.

I have made these with chorizo and feta or bacon and scrambled eggs and they were a huge hit.

27. Sloppy Joe Biscuit Casserole

Casseroles are awesome for feeding a crowd and Sloppy Joes can be a real shortcut.

This recipe is more like a shepherd’s pie than individual sandwiches.

Layer plenty of rich meaty filling on the bottom of the dish and cover with cheese and biscuits.

I like some heat so I scatter chopped jalapeños over the cheese before adding the chopped biscuits.

28. Easy Chicken and Dumplings with Biscuits

Dumplings are supposed to be dense but I think I prefer this biscuit option. They cook right in the chicken filling which makes them plenty tender and dense.

They rise a little which makes them just a touch lighter than regular dumplings. Just be sure to use buttermilk biscuits so they don’t rise too much.

29. Parmesan Garlic Butter Biscuits

How often do you coat something in garlic butter just to have the minced garlic burn in the oven? Too many times to count.

This recipe is perfect because you add the garlic butter to the dish first so it sits under the dough.

Brush them with extra once they are baked and enjoy.

30. Cinnamon Roll Bites

Who has time to make cinnamon roll dough the day before? Maybe you should just use canned biscuits and lots of cream cheese glaze.

I would change one thing here. Make some cinnamon butter in your mixer by beating butter with cinnamon, brown sugar, and a touch of honey.

Spread the butter over the top and stack them in the baking dish instead of cutting the biscuits into chunks.
