Oh, P.F. Chang’s. We love it. But what do you do when you need that Mongolian Beef and the nearest one is miles away? You don’t panic, that’s what. You make it yourself!
These copycat recipes are here to save the day, bringing all your favorites right into your own kitchen.
1. P.F. Chang’s Fried Rice
Fried rice is a classic, but the P.F. Chang’s version is just especially good. Why? I’m convinced it’s all the veggies they pack in there. We’re talking bean sprouts, green onions, shoestring carrots, and peas. P
lus, the flavor gets a boost from molasses, ginger, and garlic. It all comes together in just 30 minutes and pairs perfectly with… well, everything.
2. P.F. Chang’s Banana Spring Rolls
Okay, let’s talk dessert. These banana spring rolls are a huge personal favorite of mine. The textures are just… Wows. You get the smooth, creamy banana on the inside, wrapped in a shell that is beautifully thin and crispy.
Serve them up with caramel sauce, a dusting of powdered sugar, or why not both? They are a guaranteed hit. You can even add some other fruits and berries to the plate to make it look extra special.
3. Mongolian Beef
If you’ve had the Mongolian beef at the restaurant, you already know how insanely good this is. And if you haven’t? Get ready. The beef is so tender it practically melts in your mouth, and it’s coated in this sweet, salty, and savory sauce that is just… YES.
The best part? It’s surprisingly effortless. We’re talking 40 minutes and only 10 ingredients, most of which are probably available in pantry staples.
You just need vegetable oil, ginger, garlic, water, soy sauce, dark brown sugar, flank steak, cornstarch, red pepper flakes, and green onions.
4. Copycat P.F. Chang’s Lo Mein
Are you in the lo mein camp? This is the recipe for you. It’s even faster to throw together than the fried rice. Seriously. Besides the sauce, you just need lo mein noodles, a little olive oil, and some frozen mixed veggies. Easy.
The sauce is where the magic is: garlic, soy sauce, sugar, sesame oil, minced ginger, and Sriracha. These noodles are so tender and tasty, and that sauce is just packed with flavor.
5. P.F. Chang’s Great Wall of Chocolate Cake
I am never one to pass up a good pun, so the “Great Wall of Chocolate” name just makes me happy. And luckily, this cake is also spectacularly tasty.
It’s just layer after layer of decadent chocolate cake, with a rich chocolate ganache frosting between each one.
If you love chocolate, there is no way you won’t absolutely love this. You can even decorate it with more chocolate drizzle, some berries, or whipped cream. It doesn’t really need anything else, but honestly, why not?!
6. P.F. Chang’s Chicken Lettuce Wraps
Let’s kick things off with one of my all-time P.F. Chang’s favorites. The chicken lettuce wraps. These only take 20 minutes to pull together and don’t need a ton of ingredients.
You’ll need butter lettuce, green onions, water chestnuts, ground chicken, and a bunch of yummy sauces and spices like garlic, hoisin sauce, soy sauce, and ginger.
They’re so full of flavor, and they’re surprisingly filling, too. Plus, they pack a good amount of protein for their size!
7. P.F. Chang’s Singapore Street Noodles
A bowl of Singapore street noodles might look like a lot of other Asian dishes, but trust me, there is so much happening in there. You’ve got rice noodles, oil, garlic, cabbage, and carrots, sure.
But then add shrimp, chicken, scallions, shallots, tomatoes… and so much more. And that SAUCE. It’s zesty, tangy, spicy, and has just a perfect hint of sweetness. There is a serious ton of flavor in every single bite.
8. P.F. Chang’s Spicy Chicken
You can pull this whole spicy, simple dish together in just 15 minutes, and it’s on the table 15 minutes after that. Most of the action is in the sauce.
The chicken itself is just little fried pieces, but you coat every single one in this amazing sweet and spicy sauce. It’s made from garlic, green onions, pineapple juice, sweet chili sauce, white vinegar, and red pepper flakes.
There’s a little bit of heat, but not as much as you’d think. The sweetness from the sauce really balances it out perfectly.
9. P.F. Chang’s Apple Chai Cobbler
This apple chai cobbler is kind of like an apple crumble, but it’s got this amazing buttery topping with coconut and oats, plus it’s full of chai spices.
The apples get unbelievably tender. And you just have to top the whole thing off with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream. It makes it extra sweet and special. YUM.
10. P.F. Chang’s Kung Pao Shrimp Bowl
For this recipe, you drench these plump, juicy shrimp in a ginger-balsamic sauce that is just phenomenal. It makes them almost impossible to stop eating.
The shrimp are tender and succulent, but you also get this delightful crunch from the peanuts, onions, and scallions. That sauce is sweet, garlicky, and spicy all at once.
This whole dish is just a study in contrasts, and I am here for it. You will love this one.
