Passover is all about tradition, but that doesn’t mean dessert has to be boring! Since I skip leavened bread during the holiday, the treats that show up on my table are creative, colorful, and absolutely irresistible. I’ve rounded up 28 of my favorite Passover desserts that prove a celebration can be both meaningful and wildly delicious.
1. Easy Mixed Berry Fruit Cups
Weather permitting, you might be looking to enjoy your seder outside. What could be better than a big table full of delicious food under the warm evening sky? If that’s the case, these fruit cups are the perfect on-the-go dessert.
2. 2 Ingredient Dark Chocolate Mousse
Being a baker, I’ve made all kinds of mousse recipes, and yes, I tend to go for the fancy ones with eggs. Sorry!
But when I’m in a rush, there’s nothing better than a quick two-ingredient chocolate mousse! This is perfect served in little pots with a nice dollop of whipped cream and some chocolate shavings.
3. Easy Chocolate Avocado Freezer Fudge
It’s hard to believe these are full of avocado! You don’t taste it, but it makes the whole thing wickedly smooth and silky.
The key is to make sure your avocado is very, very smooth. I used a food processor for mine to ensure there were no lumps left.
4. Lemonade Popsicles
Who doesn’t love a glass of lemonade? I bet these popsicles will be even more popular!
You’ll need lots of lemons and plenty of water and sugar. I just mixed it all until it tasted right – mine is usually sweeter! These look incredible with fresh raspberries dotted in there, too!
5. Chocolate Dipped Strawberries
When you’re hosting a seder and need something effortless that everyone loves, chocolate dipped strawberries are your answer. They’re juicy and sweet with a deep richness, and they come together in no time. Seriously, they’re the kind of treat that disappears first, every single time.
6. Passover Cake Bites
Cake bites, cake balls, cake truffles – whatever you call them, they’re easy to make and always a hit. With this recipe, you’ll use a Passover-approved cake mix which you can find in most larger grocery stores these days. Instead of frosting, this uses chocolate ganache made with chocolate almond milk, so you know it’ll be rich!
7. Passover Chocolate Chip Cookies
I know what you’re thinking, but these have no leavening in sight! Instead, it’s a mix of matzo, brown sugar, butter, and vanilla.
The method for these is almost exactly like regular flour-based cookies. You’ll cream the butter and sugar, then add the eggs. The only real difference is that you’ll use matzo meal in place of flour.
8. Avocado Chocolate Mousse
Here’s another excellent chocolate and avocado mix! Avocado is so great for adding healthy fats, nutrients, and a wonderful creamy texture. I prefer the version with real chocolate, and I use something pretty intense and dark to boost that fantastic flavor.
9. Tart Lemon Sorbet
As the name would suggest, this isn’t the sweetest dessert out there. I’m a huge fan of those fresh fruit sorbets from above because I have a huge sweet tooth! But this is the perfect dessert if you want something sweet but not too sweet.
10. 2-ingredient Pineapple Cream Popsicles
Did you try that crazy-good Disney Dole Whip Recipe? I couldn’t believe it was just pineapple and ice cream!
This is super similar, except you’ll need to blend frozen pineapple with coconut milk rather than ice cream. That not only makes them healthier, but vegan to boot!
11. Banana Soft Serve
I always have frozen bananas in my freezer, and you should, too! Not only are they great when you need last-minute banana bread, but this soft serve will change your life!
I made this immediately after I first saw the recipe. Creamy, dreamy ice cream made with just banana? My heart skipped a beat!
12. Berries And Cream
Since Spring has sprung, there are so many sensational fresh fruits at the markets, and none shine brighter than all those gorgeous berries. They need a drizzle of simple syrup to get their juices flowing, but it's the orange-infused cream that makes this extra special.
13. Passover Apple Pecan Pie
Apple pie for Passover? That’s right!
This genius recipe doesn’t use a traditional pie crust; making is seder-approved. Instead, you’ll soak your matzos in water and mix it with the apple filling to help bind it.
14. Dark Chocolate Frozen Banana Pops
Frozen bananas are still just a touch soft, making these very much like banana ice creams. The difference being they’re pure fruit!
I like these because you can dip them or stripe with chocolate in a piping bag, and then it’s just a matter of adding your extras. Chopped nuts are a great option, but I love toffee bits for extra sweetness.
15. Healthy Chocolate Fudgsicles
I know you don’t usually see “healthy” and fudgsicles” in the same sentence, but here we are! This fantastic recipe uses frozen bananas!
Like I said before, when blitzed from frozen, they’re just like ice cream! Blending them with some cocoa powder makes them wonderfully chocolatey, and the kids won’t know they’re full of fruit!
16. Homemade Applesauce
Am I the only one to eat apple sauce and ice cream? I can’t be, right?!
I love making homemade applesauce. Not only does it make the whole house smell incredible, but I love being able to mix things up. Sometimes I use a variety of apples, mix up the spices, and I’ve even been known to throw in some pears if I have them!
17. Matzo and Chocolate Layer Cake
Think of your favorite icebox cake, where cookies soften into something luscious and cakey as they hang out in cream. That’s exactly what happens here with matzos, only they take a soak in coffee first, giving the whole thing a gorgeous mocha vibe. After a few hours in the freezer, the layers become tender and sliceable, and honestly, it’s just so good.
18. Toffee Chocolate Matzo Crack
I love a dessert that doubles as a gift, and this one’s perfect for Passover hostess bags or just piling on a platter. It’s absurdly easy: you’ll make a quick homemade caramel, pour it and melted chocolate right over the matzos so it seeps into every nook, then finish with a shower of nuts and flaky sea salt.
The result is sweet and salty and wonderfully crunchy. It’s totally irresistible.
19. Easy Healthy Popsicles
Making popsicles out of organic apple juice is pretty clever and a great way to keep the kids hydrated in the warmer months. Be sure to get juice that’s low in sugar and preferably organic. I love these with little chunks of apple inside, and maybe even some cranberries for a bit of extra color.
20. Rainbow Fruit Salad with Honey Lime Drizzle
I toss together red berries, ki
21. Easy Passion Fruit Mousse
As much as I adore passion fruit, it can be a bit expensive. But if you can’t splurge for Passover, when can you?
These little mousse pots are to die for! They’re absolutely bursting with passion fruit flavor and are insanely silky and rich. You’ll need to make extra because I ate two before the guests arrived!
22. Chocolate Flourless Cake
A flourless chocolate cake has to be deeply chocolatey and fudgy, with a rich, intense flavor, and this one hits all those notes and more. I whip up a fast ganache and pour it right over the top; it sets into a glossy, smooth finish that looks fancy without any fuss. Pair it with a few of those chocolate dipped strawberries and you’ve got a dessert that feels downright luxurious.
23. Mixed Berry Popsicles
If you’re not making your own popsicles, you’re really missing out! Not only is it super fun, but you can control exactly what goes inside!
No more check the label for unpronounceable ingredients. You’ll need popsicle molds, of course, and more of those stunning berries from the market.
24. Chocolate Raisin Clusters
What better way to get the kids to eat their fruit than to cover it with chocolate? These are chewy, fruity, creamy, rich, and super simple to make. I like mine with added crunch, so I usually add chopped nuts or crushed cookies.
25. Matzo Crisp with Pear, Apple, and Cranberries
If you thought that apple pie was clever, wait until you try this! The blend of pear, apple, and cranberry might seem very fall-like, but it’s super fruity and not too sweet. It’s also beautiful when it all starts to bubble up.
26. David Lebovitz's Chocolate Sorbet
One bite of this, and you won’t believe it’s dairy-free. It’s so insanely creamy and moreish, but I promise, there’s no cream in sight!
Top-quality Dutch cocoa powder is a must for this, as is the chocolate. If you use something cheap or full of sugars, you won’t have the same rich taste.
27. Easy Fruit Sorbet
Once you see how easy this recipe is, you’ll never buy store-bought again! Three ingredients and 15 minutes are all you'll need to make any number of gorgeous and colorful homemade sorbets. Just be sure that your fruit is fully frozen before blending, or you won’t get the right consistency.
28. Chocolate Covered Almonds
These nutty clusters are a great alternative to cookies. They have all the lovely chocolate flavor and a pleasant crunch but no added sugar. Almonds are naturally quite sweet, and the sea salt just brings it all to life.
