Coffee cocktail season is upon us and these super cozy recipes are running around on the loose in our house.
And did you hear me when I said coffee? Honestly, we don’t even need the dessert because I promise these drinks are the yummy kind. Like, really yummy.
Like, shaken with ice, sauced up with a sizzle of liqueur, and poured under a layer of creamy foam .SO GOOD.
1. Frothy Whipped Coffee White Russian
You have definitely seen the Dalgona coffee trend taking over the internet, right? If you haven’t tried it yet, just know that it is unbelievably good.
You essentially whisk hot water, sugar, and instant coffee until it becomes this light, fluffy, airy cloud of deliciousness.
For this cocktail, you mix vodka, Kahlua, vanilla, and milk in a glass first. Then you top it all off with that mound of frothy coffee. It is luscious and smooth and you will want another one immediately.
2. Cinnamon Whiskey Coffee Cocktail
Adding a little spice to your coffee is always a win in my book. It adds such a lovely warmth that just makes you feel good.
But since we are talking cocktails, we are skipping the plain cinnamon stick today.
Instead, we are grabbing a bottle of Fireball to spice things up. Just make sure you leave enough room in the mug for the actual coffee!
3. Iced Drunken Mocha Cocktail
Chocolate and coffee are basically best friends, and this drunken mocha is pure joy. It reminds me of coming home after school and mixing up chocolate milk with syrup.
This version starts the exact same way, so keep it away from the kiddos!
You shake that chocolate milk up with Kahlua and espresso for a treat that will definitely leave you smiling. You can also throw it all in a blender to make a boozy frappuccino that is nice and thick.
4. Spanish Coffee with Brandy
In Spain, locals often enjoy brandy and coffee in the morning, usually sipping them from separate cups. Later in the day, they mix them together into a drink called a Carajillo.
While Liquor 43 is a popular choice for this, any brandy works perfectly.
This recipe adds a special touch of orange to the rim so you get that zesty scent with every single sip.
5. Iced Coffee Margarita
Raise your hand if you need an iced coffee to function. Now raise your hand if margaritas are your love language.
If you are raising both hands, we are officially soul mates. And we need to drink these iced coffee margaritas immediately.
The lemon might sound a little weird here, but please just trust me on this. That citrus hit works wonders and brings the whole thing together.
6. Coffee Brandy Alexander Cocktail
A classic Brandy Alexander is a creamy, sweet mix of cognac and crème de cacao that has notes of vanilla and milk chocolate.
To give it a caffeinated makeover, you just add a splash of coffee liquor.
Because the original drink is already so sweet, you can easily get away with using straight espresso here if that is more your style.
7. Cold Brew Bourbon Cocktail
Bourbon has a naturally sweeter flavor that helps cut through the bitterness and acidity of coffee.
This recipe uses cold brew, so the flavor is already super mellow and smooth. You also add a dash of triple sec for a light citrus note that really lightens things up.
8. Nutty Irishman
Frangelico is a gorgeous Italian liquor that blends coffee, cocoa, vanilla, and hazelnuts. It is fragrant and sweet and honestly perfect over ice.
But it is also stunning when added to hot coffee.
You use Irish cream here for a creamy finish and an extra kick of alcohol. Since you are also adding a shot of whiskey, you can swap the Irish cream for milk if you want to tone it down.
9. Long Island Iced Coffee
We all have a hazy story or two involving a Long Island iced tea, right? The mix of tequila, rum, vodka, gin, and triple sec is pretty potent.
This creamy coffee version is just as powerful.
You mix Kahlua, Baileys, rum, tequila, and vodka, which sounds like a wild combination, but I promise it works! Just shake it up with your coffee and you are good to go.
10. Espresso Negroni
The traditional Negroni is a simple mix of sweet vermouth, gin, and Campari that tastes like cherry, clove, cinnamon, and orange peel.
It can be a little bitter, but it also has those nice citrus and wine notes.
For this twist, you just add espresso. It is a very grown up cocktail, so I only recommend this one if you already know you love a Negroni.
11. Mexican Coffee Cocktail
I love collecting tasty tequilas for margaritas, and Patrón XO Cafe is a favorite because it blends tequila and Arabica coffee.
This recipe calls for simple white tequila, but I used the XO Cafe to really boost that coffee flavor.
Either way, this drink is totally worth your time, especially if you serve it warm with a mountain of cinnamon whipped cream on top.
12. Coffee Buzz Martini
This is a pretty boozy cocktail, so just be warned!
If you love the warmth of a martini, I think you are going to be obsessed with this. You need vodka, Kahlua, and Baileys.
I swapped the simple syrup for whipped cream vodka to make it even more like a dessert.
13. The Siciliano
This cocktail is super light and bubbly, so it tastes more like a coffee soda than a stiff drink. It doesn’t taste overly boozy, which means it will definitely sneak up on you!
I love the dark fruity flavors from the sweet vermouth, and it is perfect if you want something that isn’t too creamy or rich.
14. Kahlúa Midnight Coffee Cocktail
You probably know by now that I have a major sweet tooth.
I always keep Kahlúa in the house, but Kahlúa Midnight is the next best thing if you don’t like things quite as sweet.
It is an intense blend of rum and black coffee. You add Irish cream for a smooth, creamy taste, plus whiskey for a little extra warmth.
15. Mocha Mezcal Dessert Cocktail
Mezcal is much stronger and smokier than tequila, and I find that it complements coffee perfectly.
This drink is strong and intense, so you might need to add a little extra sugar, especially if you are using homemade chocolate syrup.
If you can find Dangerous Don Cafe Mezcal, it is absolutely delicious in this!
16. Iced Whiskey Coffees With Whiskey Syrup and Whipped Cream
Simple syrup can take a drink from bland to bright in seconds. But there is no rule saying you can’t put whiskey in that syrup!
You make the syrup by heating water, vanilla, brown sugar, and whiskey until the sugar dissolves. It has a lovely caramel flavor that you will want to pour straight over ice cream.
