Favorite cocktail. I say that all the time, but lately these Dr. Pepper drinks are my favorite way to get all the flavor I want to drink (bold, spiced, sweet, give me everything) all in one glass.
I know, I’m a cocktail hog, and these drinks are my vice.
1. Fireball and Dr. Pepper
We’ve had sweet and zesty, but now it’s time for something that’s packin’ the heat! Fireball whiskey definitely brings it. But don’t worry. The sweetness from the cinnamon keeps it from being too much.
This combination makes for a genuinely delightful drink. It’s not overwhelmingly strong, which makes it perfect for sipping.
That mix of cinnamon, whiskey, and a little caffeine makes this my go-to cozy fall beverage. Just an A+ very good time.
2. Cherry Bourbon Smash
Looking for something with a little more brightness and zip? You have to try this. It brings together cherries, bourbon, and Dr. Pepper, but also adds lemon juice. That makes it so deliciously zesty.
I wouldn’t call it fully tart, but it’s definitely got that puckery vibe. The sweetness from the cherries and the oakiness from the bourbon just work so well together. It’s a pretty yummy drink, even if bourbon isn’t your usual go-to. YUM.
3. Cake Doctor – Dr. Pepper Cocktail
I used to bake with soda all the time, but putting cake flavor in a cocktail? Don’t knock it til you try it!
This amazing drink uses just three simple ingredients: Dr. Pepper, cake vodka, and grenadine. Honestly, the grenadine is optional, so you could even get away with two.
It really is like having a slice of birthday cake with Dr. Pepper. Tastes like dessert! The best part? It’s sweet but not overly sweet. It’s just right.
4. Caramel Apple Cocktail
This is a fall favorite in my house. That sweet, sticky caramel around the rim probably has a lot to do with it. It’s an exquisite drink, and it is strong!
You’ll combine Dr. Pepper, apple whiskey, and caramel vodka. Of all the drinks here, this one is definitely the sweetest. It’s like a boozy caramel apple, which is totally A-okay in my book.
I also love that you can whip up two of them in about five minutes. Enjoy these by a campfire. Yum.
5. Dirty Dr. Pepper
Check out this fun, refreshing mocktail! It’s perfect for when you want something unique but totally booze-free. The coconut syrup gives the Dr. Pepper a light tropical boost.
If you don’t want it too sweet, you can always use a sugar-free coconut syrup.
Just garnish it with a lime and pour it over ice. I promise, unless you tell them, people will never even realize your drink is alcohol-free. And if they try it? They’ll like it way too much to care.
6. Bourbon & Dr. Pepper
I know what you’re thinking: this probably tastes just like the Southern Doctor. But honestly, the two drinks don’t have much in common.
Maybe they would if it was just Dr. Pepper and bourbon. This recipe, though, also calls for nutmeg and Cola Maison. Those two ingredients add a spiced, herbal flavor that is just so good. Plus, the cherries aren’t just a garnish.
You actually crush and muddle them right in the drink. It gives the whole thing a sweet, boozy Cherry Coke flavor. Yum!
7. Southern Doctor
You can probably guess from the name what’s in this one. Yep, it combines Dr. Pepper and Southern Comfort. It’s a pretty robust, whiskey-forward drink that has a sweet Dr. Pepper twist.
I always think of it as Dr. Pepper’s answer to the Crown and Coke.
It definitely burns a little going down and it absolutely tastes like alcohol. But if whiskey is your drink of choice, you are going to love this. Especially if you’re a big Dr. Pepper fan, too.
8. Vodka and Dr. Pepper
Zesty, refreshing, and just perfect for summer. You will love this crisp, biting drink. It’s exactly what you want from a cocktail, but without all that sugary sweetness.
All you do is combine Dr. Pepper with vodka and a squeeze of lime. Make sure you pour them together and maybe give it a little stir.
Just do not shake them! That is a disaster waiting to happen. Stick a lime wedge on the glass and a cherry on top. Yum!
9. Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper Cocktail with Amaretto
Pro Tip: If you want to order this at a bar, do it early. Once you get a little tipsy, you’ll have a hard time asking for it. Even sober, “cherry vanilla Dr. Pepper cocktail with Amaretto” is a real mouthful.
That said, it does tell the bartender everything they need to know. So maybe just write it on a napkin! This drink is sweet, smooth, and barely tastes like it has any booze in it.
If you want an even fruitier flavor, just add some extra maraschino cherry juice.
10. Super Bowl Slammer & DIY Football Glasses
This Super Bowl Slammer is pretty darned tasty. But can we talk about those DIY football glasses? They are just too cute for words! (And yes, I totally made some of my own.)
This drink is also whiskey-forward and alcohol-heavy. Still, the apple-flavored whiskey pairs better than you’d expect with Dr. Pepper. It’s hard to describe, but it’s kind of like apple cider meets soda.
This one is an excellent option if you need a simple to make fall cocktail. It only requires the two ingredients plus a dash of grenadine. You can pull it together in just a few moments.
